The league boasts some of the fastest players in the world whose sudden burst of pace or immense sprint speed is capable of destroying defensive lines and leaving the opposition lying in their wake.

10. Theirry Correia

Thierry Correia made his under-21’s international debut in 2019 and has registered ten international appearances to date. The right-back has won both the European Under-17 and Under-19 Championship with Portugal.

Correia has played over 100 times for Valencia having scored two goals so far. Last season he featured 31 times in La Liga as his club finished ninth and yet without a major honour. He is lightning-fast and has recorded a top speed of 35 km/ph.



9. Marvin Park

Marvin Park plays for Las Palmas, so far making 39 appearances for the club and scoring a single goal. During the last campaign, he featured in 21 matches as his side gained promotion into La Liga, with the wing-back previously named UEFA Youth League Player of the Season.

Park made his international debut for the Spanish Under-19 teams during 2019 and has played just once for the national side to date. He has been known to run as fast as 35.2 km/ph.



8. Assane Diao

Young Senegalese international turned Spanish citizen Assane Diao is one of the fastest players in La Liga. He rose through Real Betis’ academy in 2023, scoring four goals in 31 senior appearances and 19 times in total within La Liga.

Diao has won four caps for Spain’s Under-21 team to date and was part of the squad that successfully claimed the European Under-19 Championship for 2024. His top speed has been recorded at 35.3 km/ph.

Inaki Williams currently plays for Athletic Bilbao. He has made over 400 club appearances and scored nearly a century of goals so far. Last season, Williams played 34 matches in La Liga alone and found the net on twelve occasions as his side won the Copa del Rey.

He has featured in 19 matches for Ghana so far and hit one goal during November 2023 against Madagascar in a 1-0 World Cup qualification win. He was named La Liga African MVP for 2023/24 and recorded a top speed of 35.4 km/ph.

Andrei Ratiu has played 18 games for Rayo Vallecano so far and scored a single goal for the club. Last season, he featured twelve times in La Liga as Rayo Vallecano managed to finish 17th and narrowly escape relegation.

Ratiu made his international debut in 2021, going on to claim 23 caps to date. He has netted once for Romania versus Bosnia and Herzegovina in a 4-1 win during a 2022 Nations League victory. Ratiu’s top speed has been recorded at 35.6 km/ph.

Nico Williams currently plays in La Liga for Athletic Bilbao. He has featured over 100 times for the Spanish side and scored 20 goals to date. Last campaign proved to be Williams’ breakthrough season as he played 37 matches and hit the back of the net eight times.

He has played in over 20 matches for the Spanish national side and scored four goals so far. Williams scored twice during his country’s triumphant 2024 European Championship run and was even named within its Team of the Tournament. He has been known to run as fast as 35.9 km/ph.

Federico Valverde made his international debut for Uruguay in 2017 and has scored seven times in 63 appearances so far. The Real Madrid star’s most recent goal for his country came during a 4-1 win over Bolivia during the 2024 Copa America.

Valverde has netted 23 goals in 263 games for Los Blancos to date. Last season he struck twice, missing just one game as Real Madrid won La Liga for the 36th time! Valverde was also named in La Liga Team of the Season and recorded a top speed of 36.3 km/ph.

Vinicius Junior has played nearly 300 times for Real Madrid and has scored 84 goals to date. Last season, he made 26 appearances in La Liga and struck 15 times which is amongst his best returns for Los Blancos over the course of a season.

Vinicius Junior has earned 35 caps for his country so far and has hit five goals for Brazil. His most recent include a brace against Paraguay in the 2024 Copa America. His top speed has been recorded at 36.5 kmph.

Brazilian prodigy Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeras in 2024, scoring in his La Liga debut against Valladolid, and looks set to take his place among the planet’s brightest starlets even at such an early age, 18.

Kylian Mbappe is the fastest player in La Liga. The French superstar moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 and last season played 48 games for PSG whilst netting 44 times. He was also rightfully named in The Athletic European Men's Team of the Season for 2023-24.

Mbappe debuted for France back in 2017 and is quickly closing in on a century of caps for the national side having scored almost 50 goals. His latest strike arrived against Poland at Euro 2024 during a tightly fought 1-1 draw. Mbappe has recorded an incredible top speed of 37.9 km/ph!
