Arsenal boss Arteta Happy With The Start of The 2024-25 Campaign

Kai Havertz Shines in Arsenal's Premier League Opener

Kai Havertz kicked off the 2024-25 Premier League season in style, netting his first goal for Arsenal just 25 minutes into their match against Wolverhampton on Saturday—a stark contrast to last season, where he didn’t score until late September.

With Arsenal opting not to add a new central striker, Havertz's early form could be pivotal in their pursuit of the Premier League title after consecutive runner-up finishes. Bukayo Saka scored the second goal in the second half to continue his scoring form from last season.

Havertz is developing a partnership with Bukayo Saka, evidenced by their exchange of assists in the match, which augurs well for Arsenal's attacking prowess this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the team's strong start: "I am really happy. With the first game, you have some uncertainty in how you will respond.

"We had our moment after 1-0 when we were not in control but after Saka's goal, we were much more comfortable. The way the boys go about their job is unbelievable, so very happy.

"We knew Wolves could change the game and they did in the second half but with our changes we became a bit stronger.

"We certainly are. We had a really good pre-season. There are things to improve for sure, but overall very happy.

"The lack of control in the second half [we can improve], we gave so many simple balls away. We also had to finish situations better but overall very happy."

Havertz's goal for Arsenal marked his 33rd in the Premier League, tying Mesut Özil, with only Ilkay Gündogan (44) scoring more among German players.
