Arsenal's Jakub Kiwior is gearing up for a demanding encounter at Goodison Park as the Premier League action resumes following the international break.
Recalling the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat to the Merseyside Blues last season, Kiwior stresses the importance of Mikel Arteta's Gunners being at their best to secure three points as they aim for their first victory over the Toffees at Goodison Park since 2017.
"It is going to be a difficult match," he acknowledged as Arsenal.com reported. "It was a difficult match last year and it's going to be a difficult match this year. It's an away match, and there are no easy matches in this league, but we have to get on the pitch and do what we are prepared to do and win the match."
Kiwior, who joined Arsenal in January 2023, has gradually integrated into Arteta's team, demonstrating his versatility by playing different positions. On his readiness to contribute, he stated: "If I start a match on the bench, I'm always prepared to go and play. I'm prepared for the team and for the coach to do my best."
The 23-year-old Polish defender also praised the Premier League, a league he had dreamt of playing in since childhood. He noted: "The matches are always hard, difficult, and the atmosphere is great."
Reflecting on his experience at Arsenal, Kiwior highlighted the warm welcome from his teammates, especially Oleksandr Zinchenko. Looking ahead, he expressed the team's ambition, saying: "I'm very aware that we were leading the Premier League last year, and our goal was to win it. However, this year we want to do it."
