Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah expressed his delight after opening the scoring in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Gunners forward Nketiah broke 26th minute the deadlock from close range before Bukayo Saka doubled the lead with a superb strike moments later.
The away side reduced the deficit late on through substitute Taiwo Awoniyi, but they didn’t do enough to secure a comeback.
Following the hard-fought win, goal-scorer Eddie Nketiah shared his thoughts with BT Sport at the Emirates: "We began strongly, but they managed to get back into the game after some tactical changes on their part. Despite the tense ending, we earned the three points fairly."
Nketiah continued, "Martinelli's skillful play to set me up was impressive. I was satisfied with my strike, and we're well aware of Saka's exceptional abilities. Having him on our team brings us immense joy."
Reflecting on the team's start and his performance on the pitch, he commented, "Every player desires to be on the field and must be prepared for action. This positive beginning is significant for both the team and me. Opportunities can arise unexpectedly, and I'm content with my contribution."
Nketiah, who holds a deep connection with the North London club, also expressed his pride at the fans' support, stating, "Being a lifelong fan of the club, this place is like home to me. It's an incredible feeling to hear the fans chant my name at the end."
