Azpilicueta happy to continue career at Chelsea.

Azpilicueta signs two-year Chelsea deal as the Spaniard ends rumours linking him with a move away from the Premier League club.

Right-back Azpilicueta has scored 17 goals for Chelsea FC so far.

Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new two-year deal at Chelsea, ending speculations of a move to LaLiga giants Barcelona.

Azpilicueta, who has won every major club honour with Chelsea since joining from Marseille in 2012, had a year left on his existing deal and had been in talks with Barcelona.

After committing his future to the Blues, the 32-year-old Spanish right-back said: "I am really happy to extend my stay at Chelsea, my home. It is almost 10 years since I first arrived and joined the club so I really feel the love and I am really excited for the new project we have in our hands.

"I would like to say thank you to Mr Todd and Mr Behdad for giving me the opportunity to keep my journey at this amazing club and I am really looking forward to continuing our adventure. I am a really proud captain and I hope we can share many good memories together."

Tuchel: 'Very happy that our captain stays on board.'

Head coach Thomas Tuchel expressed his pleasure at the skipper’s contract extension.

‘I was not surprised because we were part of the process,' Tuchel told Chelsea's official website. We are very happy that our captain stays on board. He embodies what Chelsea stands for, he is humble,’ Tuchel said.

‘He is a legend at the club, and he can lead by example. He can keep on doing what he has done for so many years. It is very good news for us.’

Azpilicueta has played 476 times for the west London club, winning the Premier League (twice), the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Europa League (twice), UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
