The Croatia international has been linked with a move away from the Blaugranas since the arrival of Frankie de Jong.
Rakitic, who joined the Blaugrana from Seville in 2014, recently hit out at Barca for how they’ve managed his situation at the Camo Nou.
Barcelona head coach Quique Setien has quashed rumours suggesting midfielder Ivan Rakitic has submitted a transfer request at the Nou Camp.
There were reports in Spain suggesting the Barca midfield maestro, who is out of contract with Los Cules in 2021, handed in a transfer request, but Ernesto Valverde’s successor says he has no information about the news, adding that the Croatian is part of his plans going forward.
"I have no information that Rakitic wants to leave the club and he has no transmitted that to me,” he told El Larguero. “And with me he has played a lot and can continue doing it.
"I am happy with his performance and have nothing to say. We have to wait to see what happens and if he wants to leave or not. And if I have to say it, the time will come."
The 32-year-old recently criticised Barca’s handling of his situation at the club, saying he is “not a sack of potatoes” and they’ve made him “uncomfortable”.
Rakitic used to be a regular in Barcelona's midfield until this season. And, with the arrival of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, his playing time reduced to just 10 La Liga matches.
