Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham expressed his delight after goals from Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé secured a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup, marking a record sixth title for the Spanish club.
Los Blancos initially struggled in the first half, with Atalanta coming close to scoring. However, after a tactical adjustment at halftime, Real Madrid significantly improved.
Valverde broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, and summer signing Mbappé doubled the lead nine minutes later, receiving a pass from Bellingham, who was more influential in the second half.
"We have a new-look team," the Englishman told BT Sport. "It seemed to click tonight. In the first half, we were still adjusting, and in the second half, we were brilliant. We have to enjoy nights like tonight.
"The coach trusts me to get a feel for different positions. I can go higher and into midfield. Whatever the coach wants from me, I'll do. I don't know if I'll always score goals, but hopefully, I can help the team win."
Bellingham also lauded Mbappé's all-around game, including his hard work.
"Kylian Mbappé is brilliant. So sharp. So much technical quality. A great teammate. He works like a dog for the team. He deserves it tonight. Not every game will be like this. We'll have to suffer at times."
Jude Bellingham has provided an assist in all three of his finals for Real Madrid. He is the only player to have done so for the club in three consecutive finals over the past 10 seasons.
