Bruno Fernandes Praises Manchester United's Performance in 3-0 Victory Over Everton

In a post-match interview, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes reflected on his team's impressive 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park.

Alejandro Garnacho broke the deadlock with a superb bicycle finish before goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial handed Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils their fifth league win in six games.

Recognising the challenges posed by the Toffees at home, Fernandes commended his team's performance, especially during crucial stages of the game.

Fernandes also highlighted the need to replicate the intensity of the first 20 minutes of the first half throughout the match. Despite the tough opposition, he expressed satisfaction with the team's overall display.

He told Sky Sports: "It is always tough to play against Everton. A really tough team - they have good players on the ball, but I think our performance was good at stages. We needed to play at moments a bit more like the first 20 minutes in the first half."

One of the standout moments of the match was Alejandro Garnacho's goal, earning praise from Fernandes. The captain acknowledged Garnacho's potential, expressing high expectations for the young talent and lauding his ability to score such remarkable goals.

The Portuguese said: "A goal like this has to silence the crowd, Everton fans will not be happy about it but they enjoy seeing it and players like him can do this. I am very happy to have him on my side."

Discussing the penalty decision, Fernandes explained his choice to allow Marcus Rashford to take the spot-kick. “Because Marcus needed a bit of confidence, he needed his goal - he is an excellent penalty taker. I was sure he could score that penalty and Marcus did it perfectly.

“I think obviously strikers and wingers need to score goals, it is part of their game,” Bruno revealed, “Marcus was unstoppable and he could take on everybody. Marcus last season was amazing so expectations have been higher and it is just about getting those goals back.”

In a separate interview with BBC MOTD, Fernandes showered praise on Kobe Mainoo, dubbing him the man of the match. Impressed by Mainoo's performance, Fernandes highlighted the young player's composure on the ball and impeccable decision-making, emphasising his readiness to contribute to the team.

"Great game - for me (Mainoo) man of the match, great performance and secure on the ball and never put a foot wrong. He is always ready to help, but for his age, he has too much quality.

As Manchester United continues its campaign, Fernandes's positive remarks and encouragement for the younger talents underscore a sense of unity and determination within the squad.
