Carlo Ancelotti Dismisses Rumours of Vinicius Jr. Moving to Saudi Arabia

Ancelotti Dismisses Rumors of Vinicius Jr. Move to Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed recent reports linking Vinicius Jr. with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, where the Brazilian winger was allegedly offered a contract worth 13 times his current salary.

In a press conference ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta, Ancelotti addressed the rumours, emphasising that they are mere speculation. "I can guarantee that there's nothing to it," Ancelotti stated. "At this time in the transfer market, which closes on August 31, there's just speculation, nothing else."

Ancelotti further assured that Vinicius remains committed to Real Madrid, where he has played since joining from Flamengo in 2018. The 24-year-old has enjoyed significant success with Los Blancos, winning 12 trophies, including two UEFA Champions League titles.

The Saudi offer, reportedly from Al-Ahli and backed by the Public Investment Fund, is said to be worth €1 billion over five years. The deal would require Al-Ahli to negotiate with both the player and Real Madrid, with the club potentially demanding a €1 billion transfer fee. Vinicius, under contract with Madrid for another three years, would also have the freedom to decide the duration of his stay in Saudi Arabia.

"Of course, speculation doesn't affect [Vinícius]," Ancelotti added. "He's here, he wants to be here, and he wants to do his best to help Real Madrid.

"We have a squad of great quality, and while we've lost important players, we've brought in others who need to adapt. We must work to maintain the atmosphere and commitment, which was key last year."
