Chelsea manager Frank Lampard: “ It's nice we're working in a good direction.”

The Blues have improved since their opening-day defeat to Man United, says Lampard.

Frank Lampard is pleased with how his Chelsea side have progressed since their opening-day defeat to Manchester United.

The west London club were beaten 4-0 at Old Trafford on the opening-day of the 2019-20 Premier League season, but they turned their fortunes around by winning their last seven games on the trot.

Reflecting on the last time the Blues played the Red Devils, Lampard said in his news conference on Tuesday as FourFourTwo quoted: "It feels a million miles.

"I'm not disregarding it - they hurt us four times in a game we played particularly well in.

"We're improving, that's the main thing. It's what we've been striving for and it's pleasing to see good signs.

"I try not to listen to too much talk about the future. If we do that there would be problems. It's nice we're working in a good direction."

Chelsea host United at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night and Lampard’s in-form Blues will definitely not be taking the Carabao Cup clash lightly as they hope to make it eight wins on the bounce.
