The west London club beat the Toffees at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Ben Chilwell has issued a rallying cry to his Chelsea teammates, asking them to keep working and improving their craft.
Ben Chilwell was delighted Chelsea secured their first Premier League win of the season when they traveled to Goodison Park on Saturday evening.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues beat Frank Lampard’s Everton 1-0, thanks to a Jorginho penalty late in the first half.
After making his first start in over eight months following a long-term knee injury, left-back Ben Chilwell reflected on the narrow win on the road while speaking to Chelsea’s official website.
‘We knew coming here it was always going to be a tough match,’ the England international said. ’We’ve got a lot to work on and improve on but the main thing today was the three points and we got them so we’re happy.
‘We’re a team in transition and we’re still trying to work together. We’ve got new players that have been integrated in and a new ownership so we’re still working hard and basically we’re just taking every game as it comes.’
When asked about Abdoulaye Doucare's foul on him that led to the referee handing Chelsea a penalty, Ben said: ‘For sure it was a penalty. I was about to shoot and felt the contact, so for me it was a penalty.
‘It’s going to take a while to get back into the way I was playing before my injury but those are the moments where I want to impact the game, getting the ball in those areas and driving into the box. Thankfully Jorgi put it away as well.’
