Chelsea to Land Joao Felix After Agreeing Fee, with Gallagher Set to Join Atleti

Chelsea to Land Joao Felix After Agreeing Fee with Atleti

Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Atletico Madrid for the signing of forward Joao Felix, with Conor Gallagher set to move in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

While the fee for Felix remains undisclosed, the 24-year-old Portuguese international is expected to return to Stamford Bridge on a six-year contract, with an option for an additional season. This move will mark Felix's return to Chelsea after a previous loan spell in 2023, during which he scored four goals in 20 appearances.

Felix's Move Opens The Door For Gallagher To Join Atleti

Gallagher, meanwhile, will sign a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid. His transfer had been delayed due to the collapse of Chelsea's negotiations to sign striker Samu Omorodion, which left Gallagher in limbo.

However, with Felix's move now facilitating Gallagher's departure, he is set to join Atletico, where he was already pictured at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Chelsea will prioritise player sales but continue to show interest in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Napoli, in turn, are trying to secure Romelu Lukaku on loan with an obligation to buy, though their current offer is expected to be rejected as it falls short of Chelsea's valuation of the player.
