The Brazil international had a night to forget as his clumsy mistakes handed Man City two goals before seeing red at the Etihad.
David Luiz has taken responsibility for Arsenal's defeat at Manchester City, adding that he wants to stay at the club and manager Mikel Arteta 'wants me to stay'.
The ex-Chelsea centre-half, who was an early sub in the first-half, had a blunder in Arsenal's back four and was sent off for pulling down Riyad Mahrez in the box.
Pep Guardiola's Citizens secured a 3-0 win on the night, thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, and Phill Foden.
"It was not the team's fault it was my fault," David Luiz told Sky Sports after the loss in Manchester. "The coach is amazing, all the players did amazing, it was just my fault.
"I should have taken a different decision in the last two months. I didn't - it was all about my contract."
When asked what different decision, he said: "Different decision to try and decide my future as early as possible but I didn't. I don't want to use that as an excuse, it was my fault and that is it.
"I love to be here that is why I continue to train hard and that is why I came today. Nobody asked me to speak, it is up to me to show my face. I want to stay. The coach knows and wants me to stay, we are waiting for the decisions."
