Enzo Maresca's Chelsea Continue Strong UEFA Conference League Campaign

Chelsea secured their fourth consecutive win in the UEFA Conference League with a confident 2-0 victory over Heidenheim at the Voith-Arena.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk, both assisted by the rejuvenated Jadon Sancho, showcased Chelsea’s depth and quality.

Nkunku opened the scoring in the 51st minute, continuing his impressive form with five goals in the group stage. Mudryk doubled the lead late, converting Sancho’s precise pass. Sancho, starting for the first time in over a month, drew praise from manager Enzo Maresca, who stressed the winger’s value in breaking down defensive setups.

Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen played a pivotal role, making crucial saves against a determined Heidenheim attack, including an outstanding stop to deny Paul Wanner. Despite Cesare Casadei’s late dismissal for a second yellow card, Chelsea’s disciplined display ensured their perfect record in Europe remained intact.

The win strengthens Chelsea’s position, with knockout qualification almost certain. For Maresca, the Conference League has been a proving ground for his tactical approach, blending attacking flair with defensive solidity as the Blues continue to progress under his guidance. The West London Blues host top-four rivals Aston Villa on Sunday.
