Former Inter and Argentina forward Crespo would like Martinez to snub the Catalan giants Barca and stay in the Serie A.
Argentina legend Hernan Crespo has heaped praise on Lautaro Martinez, saying the Inter Milan forward is a "complete player".
Martinez, 22, continues to be linked with a move away from Antonio Conte's Nerazzurri, with Barcelona reportedly keen to secure his services as they see him as a long term replacement for veteran striker Luis Suarez.
However, ex-Chelsea and Inter striker Crespo believes Martinez 'needs a bit more solid foundation' before securing a move away from the San Siro.
"I would like him to stay at Inter because this has been his first year as a starter," the 44-year-old, who won three Serie A titles with Inter, told David de las Heras on YouTube, via Sport.
"I wish he had a bit more solid foundation before another change comes. Trains slow down at the best stations and Lautaro is one of them."
The Defensa y Justicia head coach added: "He is a very serious and focused boy. I really like that. He has a lot of personality.
"He is a complete player who can play in attack both alone and accompanying another striker."
Argentine star Martinez has been impressive this season, scoring 16 goals in 31 games.
