Ex-England centre-back Joleon Lescott has backed Manchester City to secure a routine victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day. The former Man City star believes Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes do not have what it takes to stop Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens, who have registered eight Premier League victories on the bounce. The defending champions are three points clear at the top of the English top-flight table following their recent 4-0 win over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

“I think they are just starting to pick up better performances,” Lescott said as Man City’s official website quoted. “I think they have been inconsistent with their performances and their results have been evidence of that. “If we play how we can, we win the game. It’s as simple as that, regardless of how they turn up and who plays well for them. If we maximise our game plan, then we’ll win.”
