Midfield Maestro Alcantara is looking to leave Bayern Munich this summer for the Premier League.
Bayern coach Flick is convinced a new challenge in the Premier League would be ideal for midfield ace Thiago Alcantara.
Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has welcomed the idea of Thiago Alcantara leaving the Allianz Arena for Premier League football.
The Spain international is edging closer to a move to the Premier League with English top flight champions Liverpool labelled as favourites to land the 29-year-old this summer after seven years with the German champions.
Although, Sky Sports have reported that Manchester City have shown interest in the ex-Barca midfielder Thiago.
Flick said during an interview with Sport Bild: “Thiago played for Barcelona and seven years for Bayern Munich. He wants a new challenge which, in my opinion, should be the Premier League.
“He is a very important player for us, who gives the team that certain something, and we have to replace him with the same quality.”
Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rumenigge told Munchen Abendzeitung on Tuesday: “For a while, it looked like he wanted to stay but at some point, he obviously thought that he would like to do something different at the end of his career.
“Thiago is 29 now and as soon as the “3” is up it will be a little more difficult to find a top club in Europe, so you have to understand him a little bit. He had a top club in Spain, a top club in Germany so maybe he would like to join a top club in England.”
