Olivier Giroud says he's not worried about the arrival of Timo Werner at Chelsea, adding that ‘a great club should have different options in each position’.

The Frenchman insists he still has what it takes to register enough game-time at Stamford Bridge.

Werner moved to the west London club from RB Leipzig this summer and is favourite to start ahead of the former Arsenal man.

However, Giroud is convinced the competition in Frank Lampard’s team can propel them to the Premier League title.

"I haven't spoken to Lampard [about playing time]," Giroud told Telefoot.

"One thing is certain: the competition [in the squad] will pull us all to the top. A great club should have different options in each position.

"We want to be in the race for the title and I'm here. I finished the season well and I proved to the manager that he can count on me.

"Werner is not the same profile as me, I hope to have some playing time."
