Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had 'no words' after Erling Haaland continued his impressive form by scoring a second consecutive hat-trick, leading Manchester City to a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium.
Haaland's goals, including two in the first half and a late third, took his tally to seven goals in three games, maintaining City's perfect start to the season.
Despite West Ham equalising through an own goal by Ruben Dias and putting in a promising second-half performance, they couldn't capitalise on their opportunities. The win places City at the top of the Premier League table, while West Ham sits in 14th place.
Following the match, City boss Guardiola told BBC Match of the Day: "It was open, we didn't finish actions, and when they can run [Jarrod] Bowen, [Lucas] Paqueta, and [Mohammed] Kudus through, it's dangerous. [Ilkay] Gundogan came in, and we had the control back."
When asked about Haaland, who has scored seven goals in three games so far, Pep said: "No words for him. All we can do is make him play better and better and give him as many balls as possible in the box. It's what we have to do. We are there, and we added quality.
"This is a team. When you have to run backward, no one asks who has to do it. Everyone has to. When we see Erling doing that, it is fantastic."
The City manager also praised his 'close friend' Julen Lopetegui, who succeeded David Moyes as the West Ham manager: "He's a close friend and one of the most amazing managers I've met.
"All of the managers in their first season started well, but we didn't win anything. It is a question of time, and he will do it. We've had a friendship for many years, and I wish him all the best."
