Guardiola: U.S. Tour Boosts Man City’s Young Talent

Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Manchester City's pre-season tour of the United States as an "unbelievable" experience for the club's young players.

During the tour, which included matches against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea, several Academy players gained valuable exposure to senior football.

Although the Man City boss, Guardiola, noted that only a few are currently ready for the first team, he believes the experience has significantly contributed to their development. The tour provided these young players with invaluable opportunities to improve by facing high-level competition.

“We have two or three [Academy players ready for senior football],” Guardiola said as the club's official website quoted.

“The other ones are not prepared to be with us, some of them will be in the second team, some of them will be loaned. I would say they are not still prepared, but we saw them.

“The experience [they gained], they played against the Chelsea team or Barcelona, it’s an unbelievable experience for them. I’m pretty sure they came out from here being better players and this is the reason why.”
