Guardiola Provides Update on Savinho Ahead of Bournemouth Clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola provided an encouraging update on winger Savinho in his press conference ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Bournemouth at Dean Court.

After suffering a strong knock in the previous Carabao Cup match against Tottenham, Guardiola confirmed that Savinho did not sustain any fractures and could potentially be available for selection.

“Savinho did not suffer serious injury against Spurs,” Guardiola stated as BBC Sport quoted. However, he acknowledged uncertainty regarding the fitness of other players, saying: “I don’t know who else will recover in time for the game. Tomorrow you will see who is available; I have many doubts, half and half.”

The injury crisis has affected multiple positions within the squad, a situation that Guardiola noted is not unique to City. “It happens in many clubs, and we’re not the only club in the world going through it. There are a lot of injuries in certain departments and positions, but it is what it is,” he explained.

With the challenges presented by the current injury list, Guardiola emphasized the need for resilience among his players. “I've said to the players, ‘don’t feel sorry for ourselves; our challenge is this,’” he remarked, underscoring a determined mindset as they prepare for the match. “We will play with 11 players tomorrow. I will talk to players to see how they feel and the doctors. It is just day by day.”
