Haaland and Foden delighted with Manchester Derby win.

Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks to hand Manchester United a setback on Sunday, and after the clash, the Cityzens’ duo expressed their delight at the win.

City's inform striker Haaland became the first player to score three successive Premier League home hat-tricks as United were humiliated 6-3 in the derby at Etihad Stadium.

As for Foden, he is the first Manchester-born player to register a hat-trick against a Man United team.

United huffed and puffed in the second half for a bit and got what seemed to be a consolation goal thanks to an incredible strike from Antony.

Anthony Martial’s tap-in and late penalty - only helped to paper the cracks in Ten Hag’s team but didn’t change the fact that Manchester is sky blue.

The win moved City to a point behind table toppers Arsenal, who beat Spurs 3-1 in the north London derby at the Emirates.

Haaland: 'There is nothing more to say.'

Erling Haaland speaking to MOTD: "It could've been more and in the second half we should've been tighter, worked a bit harder, because it was a bit sloppy at times. We lost the second half and this is not good so we still have to work."

On making his Manchester derby debut, he asserted: "It's been good, I felt it a little bit before the game that something special is going to happen and we saw today that some special things happened. It was nice.

"On Friday I felt it in the whole training ground. It's these games I want to play in. These are the best games where there's a bit extra.

"Confidence is good, it's always been good. After we played against Liverpool in the Community Shield it was still good after. I think it was good that match happened, that something happened and [I thought] I have to be a bit more ready. "

Speaking to Sky Sports, Phil Foden said: "It's a dream come true playing in a derby being a City fan as well. It's been a pleasure to be a part of this team.

"Our determination was from kick-off and we finished our chances."
