According to widespread reports, the midfield maestro is set to undergo a medical with the Serie A giants on Monday.

Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is "confident" the Nerazzurri will secure the services of Tottenham midfield maestro Christian Eriksen before the transfer window closes this January.

Eriksen was left out of the squad for Spurs' FA Cup fourth round tie at Southampton on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

According to widespread reports, the midfield maestro is set to undergo a medical with the Serie A giants on Monday after the north London side accepted an offer off £12.6m for the Dane, who is into the final six months of his contract.

"We won't hide. We have been negotiating with Tottenham for some time," Inter CEO Marotta told DAZN ahead of Inter's Serie A clash with Cagliari on Sunday.

"I am optimistic and hope that it can be concluded as quickly as possible. I am confident that it can be resolved in the next few days."
