Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg [25] and backs the Tottenham midfield marshall to become a manager in the future.
Mourinho believes Hojbjerg will become a manager after his playing career comes to an end.
Jose Mourinho has lauded midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after his remarkable start to life at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Denmark international joined the Lilywhites from Southampton during the previous transfer window, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract, and has played 19 times under Mourinho this season.
The 25-year-old was impressive in Spurs' north London derby win against Arsenal on Sunday evening, and following the 2-0 victory over the Gunners, Mourinho said he is convinced Hojbjerg will become a future football manager.
The Portuguese also hailed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for making sure they signed the combative midfielder.
'Pierre [Hojbjerg] is, first of all, very intelligent. He reads the game very well. He's going to be a coach one day, for sure,' Mourinho told his news conference after the match as the Daily Mail quoted.
'He's a pain, asking questions about why we do this and why we do that. On the pitch, he reads the situation very, very well and the people that surround him are really compact, they read the game.
'Physically he's very, very strong and technically he's much better than people think. Because sometimes people think the guy that is good technically is the guy that does the backheel.
'The guy that is good technically is the guy that does something wonderful. But these are not my words. These are words from coaches of 30, 40 years ago. Simplicity is genius.
'And the guy is so simple in everything he does with the ball. And I think he's a phenomenal player. Congratulations, Mr (Daniel) Levy.'
