Joshua Zirkzee 'Thankful and Blessed' After Scoring on Premier League Debut

Joshua Zirkzee Expresses Gratitude After Scoring on Premier League Debut

Joshua Zirkzee expressed his gratitude after scoring on his Premier League debut, a goal that helped Manchester United secure their first three points of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

The Dutchman came on in the 61st minute to replace Mason Mount and found the back of the net in the 87th minute, despite having only 12 touches during the game.

Zirkzee is the 15th Dutchman to score on his Premier League debut, with four of them now doing so for Manchester United—joining the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alexander Büttner, and Donny van de Beek.

This victory marks a significant moment for Manchester United, as they lost this fixture last season. Fulham had some threatening moments on the counter-attack, but Erik ten Hag will be relieved. Three points at Old Trafford tonight are crucial.

After the match, Zirkzee told Sky Sports: "To win here in my first home game and to grab a goal, it couldn't be better. I've been told [scoring at the Stretford End] is one of the best feelings at Man Utd. I'm so thankful and blessed I could experience it in my first game. It's an amazing feeling."

"At the end of the day, we got the win, that's all we wanted. I can't really explain the feeling, it's just very nice."

"I feel very warm here. It's a great team. We want to achieve something great. It's been amazing, it's been a dream actually. The manager told me to bring energy and help the team as much as possible, just that."

"Manchester United is a huge club. You should always strive for the best. That includes day by day giving 100%, that's the plan. It's all good vibes."
