Liverpool FC came from behind to secure a win over Shrewsbury Town as they booked their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.
Jurgen Klopp was pleased with how his under-strength Liverpool side came from behind to beat League One club Shrewsbury Town at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds were handed a surprise when Daniel Udoh opened the scoring in the 27th minute but the visitors didn’t hold onto their lead for too long as teenager Kaide Gordon quickly scored the equaliser.
Then Fabinho made it 2-1 from the penalty spot after the referee awarded a penalty for handball just before the break.
In the second half, substitute Roberto Firmino found the net with a superb backheel finish before Fabinho scored his second of the afternoon as the game ended 4-1 to the Merseyside club.
However, Klopp, who made his return to the touchline after isolating with Covid, told BBC Sport: "We've trained since Friday pretty much and that is what we decided with this lineup. The boys really fought hard.
"When you get the first goal against you so many things can happen but I liked the way we responded.
"We started with five really young boys. They are really good players. We played so many safe passes in the first half. We knew we could play better football in the second half."
On Kaide Gordon being the second-youngest scorer in Liverpool's history, the German said: "He's a real talent and his main strength is his finishing."
When asked about the Covid cases in the squad, he replied: "We only have one real extra positive case and that is Trent Alexander-Arnold."
