Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Calls for Even Louder Support at Anfield

"I'm Hoping the Fans Can Be Twice as Loud at Anfield," Says Liverpool Manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has called on the Anfield faithful to bring even more energy to the stadium this Saturday as his team faces Brentford in their first home league match of the 2024-25 season.

Slot, who recently replaced Jurgen Klopp, is preparing to manage his first Premier League game at Anfield after guiding Liverpool to a 2-0 win over Ipswich last weekend.

Speaking to the media on Friday morning, Slot expressed his confidence ahead of the match and stressed the importance of fan support. "I'm hoping the fans can be twice as loud as the Ipswich fans," said the Dutchman.

"I am not nervous at all. Certainly not at this moment because I'm in the middle of preparation, preparing the team for Sunday, and no nerves. It wouldn't be a good thing if you have nerves. I trust what my staff and I do to prepare the team in the best possible way. I trust the team a lot."

Slot also spoke about his expectations for the players, acknowledging that while the team is making progress, there is still much work to be done. "I think we're on a good track, but you have to understand some of them have only been here for three weeks," he said. "It's not only about us but about what the opponents bring to the game. Ipswich made it difficult for us. We got a bit more space, and you could see how good the boys played. Still, a lot of work to do, but it's the first step."

As Slot continues to adapt to his new role, he emphasises the importance of learning from each match and training session, particularly when it comes to understanding his squad better. "I'm learning every day about the players as individuals and how they play together," Slot remarked.

"I learned last weekend how the players that didn't play on Saturday trained well on Sunday. They brought in a good training session. That will help them and us. I am still learning new things with the players. It is normal; I have only worked with them for three weeks."

With the support of passionate Liverpool fans and Slot's growing understanding of his team, the Reds will be looking to maintain their winning start to the season and continue building momentum under their new coach.
