Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has quashed reports suggesting that he could be seeking a new challenge elsewhere.

The Reds boss Klopp says he will only seek pastures new if he is forced out of Anfield, adding that there could be a few changes at the Merseyside club during the summer.

Liverpool have been below par in the 2022-23 campaign so far, sitting in the ninth spot in the Premier League standings and 10 points off a top-four spot.

They were demolished 3-0 at the Amex in the Premier League on Saturday - with Klopp calling it the worst performance of his managerial career - but believes his side responded at Molineux.

"Either the manager's position changes or a lot of other things change," said Klopp, who took over at Anfield back in 2015, as BBC Sport quoted.

"So, as far as I am concerned unless someone tells me I will not go. So that means maybe there is a point where we have to change other stuff. We will see that, but that is something for the future. Like summer or whatever. Not now.

"I have space and time to think about it. We have to play better football now."

Klopp keen for Firmino contract extension.

Klopp also confirmed that there will be no more signings in the winter transfer window following the signing of Netherlands international Cody Gakpo, and would like attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino to extend his contract at Anfield.

The Brazil international has been a core member of Klopp’s Reds over the years, and the German boss once labelled him as 'a gift' left by former manager Brendan Rodgers when he arrived at Anfield in October 2015 to find Firmino.

Reports in Germany have suggested that there have been discussions between Firmino and the Merseyside club over a new deal that will most likely run up until June 2025.

‘I said that before – yes, I want to keep him at the club,’ Klopp said as the Daily Mail reported.
