Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has praised his side’s recent displays including the 4-1 win over Everton on Wednesday night.

The England international, who broke the deadlock against the Toffees last night, also spoke about the “high tempo and pressing” game they are accustomed to as he lauded Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian produced yet another world-class performance for the Reds in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

"Going forward and the chances that we created, not only tonight but over the last few weeks, has been outstanding," Henderson told Amazon.

"Defending is a big part of our game - I thought we defended well for the majority of tonight and that gives us a platform to go forward as we did.

"We spoke about just playing our normal game which is high tempo and pressing anyway. It was just about playing like we have in the last few weeks and playing like we have for the majority of the season and I think we managed that tonight.

"We were disappointed with the goal, but we reacted well in the second half, but going forward we need to make sure we don't concede anymore goals like that.

"It was a nice feeling to score tonight and get my first goal against Everton. Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson did really well down the left and thankfully it went in!"

'Salah makes my job easier.'

When quizzed about Mo Salah's form, Henderson replied: "He's been outstanding this season and at the moment you wouldn't want to play against him. It makes my job easier because you just give him the ball and he goes and puts it in the net. It was outstanding from him."

Salah - 'We knew it could be emotional'

Liverpool goalscorer Salah added: "The message from the manager was that they will play physically strong and go 100% for every ball we just had to play our game and try to create chances, which we did.

"I expected him [Seamus Coleman] to do a mistake which he did. The game was tough at 2-1 but at 3-1 it becomes much better."

When quizzed if he has any target for goals this season, Salah replied: "Hopefully many more. My first target is to win something at the club, league, Champions League hopefully both."

On defender Virgil van Dijk and his return to where he got injured last season: "It is great to see him back and especially here. We knew before the game it could be emotional because he got injured before. He is our captain."
