Mohamed Salah is now Liverpool's all-time top goalscorer in the European Cup.
Mohamed Salah admits 'it’s a great feeling' to be Liverpool’s all-time top scorer in the Champions League.
The Egypt international broke the deadlock in the Reds’ final group game against FC Midtjylland in the European Cup.
Salah’s strike just after 55 seconds on Wednesday night was his 22nd goal for the Merseyside club in the Champions League, surpassing Steven Gerrard's previous record of 21.
And, after the match in Denmark, the ex-Chelsea and Roma forward insisted that he is keen on doing 'the most important thing' which is to score more goals to help Jürgen Klopp's Reds win more games.
The 28-year-old told BT Sport: "It's a great feeling, of course, to be the top scorer for the club [in the Champions League], something I'm proud of.
"I need to keep going like that and scoring more goals and make the gap maybe bigger between me and the others!
"But I'm trying all the time to score goals just to help the team to win games – that's the most important thing."
Alexander Scholz's second-half penalty cancelled out Salah’s opener as both sides shared the spoils but Liverpool finish as Group D winners, however, Salah was pleased with how they performed at the MCH Arena.
"It was a tough game, they played good today and they played like almost man-marking," he added.
"We scored the first goal early after the first minute but they struck back, played a good game. The game finished a draw but the most important thing [was] that we qualified already first. It's a game to learn."
