Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight at Liverpool winger Luis Diaz returning to the fold, saying 'he is like a breath of fresh air' and like a 'new signing'.
Liverpool, who are eighth in the English top-flight standings, 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle United, travel to Leeds on Monday night as they look to push for an unlikely Champions League position.
However, it'll be the first time since Diaz was involved in the Liverpool squad since he damaged his knee ligaments in October 2022.
Speaking ahead of the crunch clash on Monday night at Elland Road, Klopp said of the 26-year-old: "He’s 100 percent ready in training so that’s it now.
"We have to reintegrate him. He will be in the squad and from there we go. That’s it.
"Absolutely it is (like having a new signing). He’s developed massively. His English is getting better, so he is really settled. He was here every day.
"He really matured again, much more comfortable than he was in the beginning with everything in a new country. He is like a breath of fresh air every day he is in training.
"He loves it out there, I said in the beginning when he came that he cannot train without a smile on his face and that’s something really special and that’s exactly how he acts now."
Klopp admitted that his team have been average this season but he is motivated to rebuild his side and have a go again.
The German added: "We played a very average season. We have to do business in the market, and we will do it. Spending in football combined with football knowledge will lead to improvement, that’s very likely.
"So it’s not rocket science we are talking about it. So we have the year we have, but we’ll be ready to fight again, for whatever. We will see that — you will see that."
