Man City and Erling Haaland continued their winning ways from Sunday’s Manchester derby win over Man United and took less than seven minutes to open their scoring account against Copenhagen.
Manchester City boss Pep admitted his Cityzens are 'consistent and fighting' for every trophy after they beat Copenhagen 5-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Erling Haaland continued his outstanding goal scoring form with two more goals against the Danish club before Davit Khocholava’s own goal and second half strikes from Riyad Mahrez [penalty] and Julian Alvarez ensured City made it three wins out of three in Champions League Group G.
Haaland was replaced by Cole Palmer at half-time and missed the opportunity to score what would have been his fourth hat-trick for Man City, however, he has now registered 19 goals in his first 12 games for the Premier League champions.
City dominated the game against the Danish club and are favourites to do the same in Denmark next week, however, Guardiola said he was really impressed by how they handled the match.
'I'm really, really satisfied'
Speaking to BT Sport, the Manchester City boss explained: "We are consistent and fighting for everything. After we won the derby 6-3 we had a lot of confidence so great to play the way we played.
"The result was excellent but I'm really impressed the way we attacked. I'm really, really satisfied and again compliments to the players.
"We played really good in all departments. We were really focused. And many players played at a high level. Everyone has to perform well to help the team and win game-by-game.
"The game was 3-0 and he's played a lot of minutes. It was good for the younger players and Cole Palmer was excellent.
"He played unbelievable Jack Grealish. The next step is to score goals.
"We cannot forget that last season we could not beat Southampton. We will look at that. We have to put in the mindset that it is a new game and hopefully we do not believe what we did will happen in the next game. We have to win all the games to finish first in the group stage too."
Mahrez: 'The score is deserved.'
Man City winger Riyad Mahrez added: "It's good when we have the ball and are in the opponent's box. We try to create chances like we always do.
"The score is deserved and is good for the next game. Nice to score goals and to help the team to win as well.
"There has always been competition [for places] maybe less so now but it is good."
