Man City keen to repeat last season's success

Julian Alvarez maintains that he and his fellow City teammates possess an unwavering determination to pursue the Treble once more after the unprecedented triumph of the previous season.

The Argentine played a pivotal role in Pep Guardiola's squad, which secured its inaugural European championship title, simultaneously clinching the Premier League and FA Cup trophies.

The commencement of the new season has witnessed City's impressive start, marked by triumphs in both of their initial league encounters vs Burnley and Newcastle United, in addition to a nail-biting victory in the Super Cup against Sevilla, decided by a penalty shootout.

However, reflecting on Saturday's hard-earned victory over Eddie Howe’s resilient Newcastle side, in which Alvarez netted the sole goal of the match, he conveys the shared enthusiasm amongst him and his teammates to embark on a journey of further accomplishments, building upon the extraordinary feats of the preceding year.

“It won’t be easy at all [to win the Treble again,” Alvarez said as mancity.com reported. “We achieved something that very few teams have been able to do, but of course, the hunger, desire and passion to play well will still be there.

“We know how difficult it will be, but we’ve started well, and we are going to work hard to keep achieving great things.”

Speaking of his role (alongside Erling Haaland) against Newcastle, he said: “I played in this position a few times last season too. I try to learn every day, to adapt to different positions that they play me in, the different movements I need to make to help the team – wherever that may be.

“I’m always happy when I’m called upon to play, it’s a great feeling and I always try to give my best to help the team.”
