Man City's Oscar Bobb Sidelined with Leg Fracture

Manchester City's Oscar Bobb Faces Injury Layoff After Leg Fracture in Training

Oscar Bobb, a promising 21-year-old midfielder for Manchester City, has been sidelined after fracturing a bone in his leg during a training session.

The injury, which occurred in a non-contact situation while Bobb was turning, has raised concerns about his availability for the upcoming weeks.

City’s medical team are currently assessing the full extent of the injury, and there is a possibility that Bobb will travel to Barcelona for specialised treatment.

This setback is particularly unfortunate for Bobb, who had shown great promise during pre-season and was expected to be a key player in City's squad, especially with several of their international players just returning to training.

Bobb's injury comes at a critical time, as he was poised to play a significant role in Manchester City's Premier League opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Having joined City from Valerenga in 2019, Bobb has steadily developed under Pep Guardiola's guidance, making 26 appearances last season.

His impressive performances earned him a new five-year contract in February, signalling the club’s belief in his potential. His absence will be a blow to Guardiola’s plans, as Bobb had already demonstrated his capabilities, notably playing 89 minutes in City's Community Shield victory over Manchester United.

The club and fans alike will be hoping for a swift recovery so that Bobb can continue his upward trajectory and contribute to City’s 2024-25 campaign.
