Foden came off the bench to score the third goal late on.
Phil Foden expressed his delight at Manchester City's sharpness after Pep Guardiola's side secured a 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Foden, 20, finished a rebound off the post for a third goal late on following a first-half strike from Raheem Sterling and a second-half penalty kick from Kevin de Bruyne.
The midfielder Foden was happy City returned to action in flying colours and also admitted they are 'training really hard' to get to full fitness.
"We weren't going to be at 100%," the midfielder said as mancity.com quoted. "But we've been training really hard to get back to it.
"It's been strange with the break but I thought the lads came back really sharp, making short passes and things to get back into it.
"Today, it paid off and we were happy to be back on the pitch - and back with a win.
"There were a lot of changes. That's going to be how it is - the way forward - in the next couple of games.
"Every player is needed so every player needs to be ready to come on.
"The boss said everyone needs to be ready - not everyone can play every game 90 minutes. He's going to rotate a lot and I need to be ready to play whenever to try my best.
"The fitness levels were okay. We pressed high and looked like the City everyone knows."
