Solskjaer hopes to see Paul Pogba training with the Man Utd first team next week.
Martial will miss Manchester United's Europa League clash with LASK on Thursday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Anthony Martial will not be in the squad to play LASK in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The Les Bleus star hit his leg against the post while trying to close down Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson during the Red Devils' 2-0 derby win at Old Trafford on Sunday.
But, the United boss is hoping Martial, who wasn't involved in training on Wednesday, will be fit to play Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend.
"Anthony hurt himself when he slid into the post, so he is not ready for this game," Solskjaer told reporters. "Hopefully [he will be ready] for Sunday, but I'm not sure."
On Paul Pogba, who has been out of action since December 26, the Norwegian said: "Paul is getting closer, but not ready yet.
"He hasn't trained with the team yet but, by next week, he will be ready."
