Man Utd Confident Bruno Fernandes Will Extend His Stay at Old Trafford

Man Utd Believe Bruno Fernandes Will Commit His Future to the Club

Manchester United are increasingly confident that their captain, Bruno Fernandes, will sign a new long-term contract, reflecting his status among the club’s top earners.

The Red Devils are eager to secure Fernandes' future and are hopeful that a new three-year deal, with the possibility of an additional year, will soon be agreed upon.

Fernandes, who turns 30 next month, joined United in January 2020 and has since become a pivotal figure at Old Trafford. Over his four and a half years with the club, he has made over 220 appearances, contributing 73 goals and 65 assists.

Despite a challenging 2023-24 season that saw United finish eighth in the Premier League, Fernandes' displays helped the team to an FA Cup victory, ending the season on a positive note.

In May, Fernandes hinted at considering his options after Euro 2024 due to interest from Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabian clubs. However, he has since reiterated his commitment to Manchester United.

In a heartfelt piece for The Player's Tribune, Fernandes expressed his deep love for the club and its fans, emphasising his desire to compete for major trophies and his alignment with the club's ambitions.

Reports from Portuguese outlet O Jogo indicated that Fernandes' agent had met with Bayern Munich representatives over the summer, as the German giants sought a marquee signing. Nonetheless, Fernandes' recent statements and a strong desire to remain at United have reassured the club of his commitment.

Man United's optimism about reaching an agreement on a new contract underscores their confidence in Fernandes' dedication and the alignment of his goals with the club’s aspirations.

As negotiations continue, both parties are hopeful for a positive resolution that will see Fernandes continue to lead and inspire at Old Trafford.
