Antony and Diogo Dalot hit the target at Nottingham to move Man United into the third spot in the Premier League table.
Antony was in fine form today as he scored one and assisted another as the Red Devils sealed a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils took the lead in the 32nd minute as Brazil forward Antony hit the net from close range after Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas parried a shot from Anthony Martial.
And in the 76th minute, Antony cut in from the right before putting a through ball for United defender Diogo Dalot to slot home.
It was a brilliant display from Ten Hag’s boys and the victory over Forest puts United three points clear of fourth-placed Newcastle United and six points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played a game more than the Manchester club.
'Special goal for Dalot’
After the match, United goalscorer Dalot told Sky Sports about scoring his first Premier League goal: "It was special, the moment of the goal was important as well, 2-0 made it more comfortable. It is always special to score for this club."
Asked about his handshake celebration with Antony: "It's our little thing. He had a fantastic game too, he is getting rewards for his effort all season."
Eriksen feels good
Christian Eriksen started his first match since sustaining an ankle injury in January, replacing Marcel Sabitzer, who suffered a groin injury pre-match, and the Denmark midfielder was sensational at the City Ground.
He said when asked how much time he had to prepare for the match: "Not a lot, they did some finishing in the end, it’s always the last drill and I got the news then that Marcel [Sabitzer] was injured. I was told to just be ready, but I was not sure.
"Mentally I was ready. I’ve been out for a while, I need to do my prep and be ready.
"For me it was easy to slot in because of how we played. There was a lot of space for me in midfield.
"Watching the last few games from the bench we have started games very well. It is a theme that we don’t score another to put the game in our hands but we keep going.
"The team have impressed me, they have kept the intensity and the level.
"If you take into account how we started the season, there is a completely different feeling around the club.
"There are still loads of games but we want to go for everything as much as we can. We want revenge against Sevilla and then after that a semi-final.
"I feel good."
