Casemiro has continued to be a sensation since his summer move from La Liga giants Real Madrid to Man United.
Casemiro was happy with the “pleasant evening” Manchester United had when they hosted Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Brazil midfield marshal Casemiro, who Erik ten Hag refers to as the cement between United's attack and defence, scored a double as Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils sealed a 3-1 win over the Championship club at Old Trafford to secure a spot in the fifth round of football’s oldest competition.
However, the summer signing from Real Madrid congratulated his teammates for their display on the day.
“Congratulations to the whole team, it was controlled from the beginning to the end,” the serial winner told manutd.com.
“Of course, it can be even better. We suffered one goal, but I would say that we had a pleasant evening.
“The most important is the victory, assuring our qualification to the next round.”
Antony provided the assist for Casemiro to break the deadlock and the 30-year-old said of his compatriot: “All the merit goes to him.”
“It was a collective effort, when we score, it is always a team effort, but Antony’s pass was exceptional and I only had the job to put it in the back of the net.
“I had the composure to finish well, but his pass was exceptional.” He continued: “He is exceptional. I know him very well, he is an incredible player, an incredible person that is giving the best that he can.
“We know, to win trophies and big matches, we need a good squad; it’s important to get minutes coming from the bench, score goals, for Antony to have a good game as he did today.
“All of this is important for Manchester United.”
