The Chilean star is currently on loan at Inter Milan and has failed to make an impact at the Serie A club.
Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda believes Alexis Sanchez has suffered a "very tortuous" time since leaving north London club Arsenal for Manchester United. The former Gunners star is currently on loan in Italy, but has failed to make an impact on Antonio Conte's side after an injury restricted him to just 15 appearances before the COVID-19 shutdown. "It's been a traumatic year for him, very tortuous, even after his departure from Arsenal, his first year in Manchester," Rueda told Diario Sport.
More: Mari is hoping he can secure a permanent deal at Arsenal. "He came to the Copa America in Brazil and then he was very unlucky to get injured in Alicante in a friendly against Colombia. It almost frustrated his loan to Inter. "Once he had recovered, the [coronavirus] pandemic happened. I hope it [coronavirus] passes fast because he is a great professional."
Rueda added: "He has a great training culture and he will maintain a high level at any club that can give him an opportunity. He has a lot of football yet to show at the top level." United are expecting the former Udinese star Sanchez to return to Old Trafford when the season comes to an end, but the 31-year-old is unwilling to cut his wages to secure a permanent exit from Old Trafford, according to reports from the Standard Sport.
