Lille striker Victor Osimhen has quashed the "sickening" reports claiming he has agreed to join Serie A side Napoli at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The Nigerian forward, who has scored 18 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club, has been attracting interest from several clubs in Europe, including Premier League clubs Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

But, there was a recent rumour that said he has agreed to join Italian side Napoli this summer, and the 21-year-old has quickly responded to the speculation by saying it is fake news.

"The fake news about me agreeing a deal with Napoli is sickening for real," the Lille player of the season told Nigerian website Omasports.

"I'm surprised at the journalists, that say they are professionals. I find it amazing. Please disregard any fake news. When it’s time for my transfer, you'll hear from me directly."
