In a post-match interview on Saturday, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his disappointment after a heart-wrenching defeat against Wolves. Speaking candidly, Postecoglou acknowledged the team's hard work and effort until the late stages of the game. Despite running out of steam, he credited Wolves for their relentless attacking display that resulted in two impressive late goals.
Postecoglou didn't shy away from critiquing Tottenham's performance, noting that the team might have played conservatively, especially after taking the lead in the first half. He emphasised the need for more positivity and expressed an understanding of the challenges faced, given several players having their first start.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live after the defeat, Postecoglou said: "Obviously it is disappointing, the goals going in so late and we worked hard up until that point. We ran out of legs at the end but credit to Wolves they came at us and scored a couple of good goals.
"I cannot question the effort and the commitment. In the first half, we scored a good goal and then played a bit conservatively. I did not think we were as positive as we could be, the second half was a bit better but there are a lot of players having their first start and we were never going to get the same fluency."
