Ange Postecoglou acknowledged that while Spurs' 4-3 win over Team K League in Seoul was affected by the challenging hot and humid conditions, there were still positives to take from the match.
The Lilywhites led 3-0 at halftime with goals from Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski. Team K League reduced the lead to 3-2 with quick goals in the second half, but Will Lankshear extended Tottenham's lead before a late goal from Oberdan set up a tense finish.
Postecoglou cited tiredness due to recent intense training but emphasised the importance of playing in such conditions for physical conditioning. He praised the team for their effort and highlighted the support from over 63,000 fans, hoping they left entertained.
"The game was okay," Ange said as the club's official website quoted. "We obviously looked a bit tired tonight it’s fair to say and understandably so – we’re working hard in these conditions.
"I don’t think we were in the ideal condition going into it. We’ve obviously had a couple of days of quite hard training, but we don’t want to adjust how we play – that’s the challenge for our boys, to keep going.
"We weren’t as sharp as we want to be. Credit to the lads; they kept working hard. We did some nice things, some not so nice things but I think they’ll feel better after getting through that game. We’ll get a lot out of it from that respect, from a physical standpoint. I think that’s positive.
"There were some good things tonight, we scored some good goals tonight but there are still some things we need to work on but, overall, in terms of where we are at in terms of pre-season, it was an okay night."
Postecoglou also lauded supporters at the Stadium, saying: "It’s great. It’s been unbelievable since the moment we arrived, to be honest, but, yes, it makes a difference when you’re playing in big stadiums in front of big crowds, the players enjoy it and it adds a little bit of intensity to the game. Hopefully, they got entertained tonight."
