Mikel Arteta has lost confidence in Lacazette, says former Newcastle and Man Utd star Andy Cole.
French striker Alexandre Lacazette has been told that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta doesn't have enough belief in him.
The former Lyon frontman Lacazette was dropped when Marcelo Bielsa's Whites visited the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
With Lacazette watching from the stands, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned to the Gunners starting XI and scored his first Premier League hat-trick against the Yorkshire club.
Lacazette didn't even make the substitute list when Arteta made changes to his side that was threatened by Leeds’ two second-half goals.
While speaking to talkSPORT, former Manchester United ace Andy Cole said Arteta doesn’t trust Lacazette enough and explained that the 29-year-old will be disappointed.
"Look at Lacazette and I’m disappointed for him because I don’t think Arteta believes in him.
"He’s looking at Aubameyang coming back in after two games on the bench, gets himself a hat-trick… he’ll be saying to himself, ‘that could have been me’.”
