Cavani has gone down the pecking order in Thomas Tuchel's side this season.
Cavani, who is PSG's all-time top scorer since joining from Napoli in 2013, has three months left on his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
Edinson Cavani's mother says 'many clubs' are interested in securing the services of the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
Cavani has fallen down the pecking order following loan star Mauro Icardi's arrival on a season-long loan.
The 33-year-old has been linked with various clubs in Europe and South America, with Boca Juniors and Atletico Madrid reportedly monitoring his situation at the Parc des Princes.
However, speaking in her native Uruguay, Cavani's mum Berta Gomez has stated that her son is keen to continue plying his trade in Europe.
'Fortunately today, there are many clubs interested in signing Cavani. He still does not know where he will play, he has three months left in Paris,' Gomez told Uruguayan outlet Ovacion Digital.
'We have to think carefully. At the moment, he has no intention of returning to Uruguay, he is planning to continue in Europe and would like to go to Spain.'
While speaking to Spanish tabloid AS, she said 'If it is not now, it will surely be next summer. It is complicated, but he wants to play for Atlético."
The Uruguay striker has registered 200 goals in 301 appearances following his £58million move from Serie club Napoli back in 2013.
