Ex-Dortmund star Pulisic has scored seven Premier League goals in his first season in English football.
A happy Christian Pulisic expressed his delight after Chelsea sealed a win over Manchester City.
The Blues thrashed Pep Guardiola’s side 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening as Liverpool confirmed their status as Premier League champions.
US international Pulisic scored the first goal of the game in the 36th minute but City responded ten minutes into the second-half through a Kevin de Bruyne free-kick.
Willian, however, scored the winner from the plenty spot after a VAR review showed Fernandinho fouled Tammy Abraham in the box.
And, Pulisic said the three points was the most important thing in Chelsea’s win against Man City.
‘The most important thing was that we got the three points that we desperately needed today,’ the American Pulisic said at the end of the first-ever competitive game behind closed doors in west London as chelseafc.com reported.
‘We looked at this game against a big opponent and we wanted to win it. We were at home, obviously in slightly different circumstances, but we’re happy that we came out and got a really good result.’
‘We have to capitalise on opportunities like that,’ he explained. ‘I had another one in the second half as well [which was cleared off the line by Kyle Walker] but I’m just happy to help the team out by scoring. We needed it and we’re just happy to get the three points.
‘We went into the game with a really confident mindset to go out and win. Obviously we want to finish the season strongly but we feel we’re capable of a lot more as well.’
