Setien discusses Barca’s pursuit of Inter Milan forward Martinez.
The Barca boss admits the Nerazzurri striker, who has a release clause of £97.5million, is a "great footballer".
Barcelona head coach Quique Setien has given a little insight on the Blaugrana pursuit of Inter Milan forward striker Lautaro Martinez.
Setien, who replaced Ernesto Valverde at the Camp Nou helm, says it’s hard to predict what Los Cules will do in regards to signing the 22-year-old as the COVID-19 crisis has brought financial uncertainty to the football world.
"We talk about transfers, but this pandemic is going to condition many things. The situation of the clubs will be economically complicated," the Barcelona head coach told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
"I am not pessimistic or optimistic with Lautaro. I like how I like great footballers, but I have no illusions with any."
Setien's comments will put Chelsea and Manchester City on red alert as it is believed both Premier League clubs are monitoring the striker’s situation at the San Siro.
