Real Madrid star and Belgian international Eden Hazard has undergone a successful surgery on his broken right foot, the LaLiga table-toppers revealed on Thursday.

The former Chelsea forward Hazard, who sustained a fracture to his right fibula in Los Blancos' 1-0 LaLiga defeat to Levante, had the surgery done at a facility in Dallas.

"Hazard will now remain under observation until he gets the all clear to begin his rehabilitation process," Real Madrid said in a statement yesterday.

Hazard has only made 15 appearances for Zinedine Zidane's side since his €100million move from Premier League club Chelsea as a result of injuries.

And, he is expected to return to Spain within the next few days to continue his recovery.
