Real Madrid Thrash Valladolid for First La Liga Win

Updated: Sep 20

Real Madrid secured their first La Liga victory of the season with a convincing 3-0 win over Real Valladolid, thanks to goals from Federico Valverde, Brahim Diaz, and debutant Endrick.

The match at the Santiago Bernabeu saw Madrid overcome a tough first half, where Valladolid's deep defensive setup limited chances and frustrated Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Despite early struggles to break through Valladolid's defence, the game turned in Madrid's favour in the second half. The breakthrough came in the 50th minute when Federico Valverde's low shot, which deflected off Stanko Juric, found the back of the net past goalkeeper Karl Hein. This goal opened up the game, forcing Valladolid to come out of their defensive shell in search of an equaliser.

Madrid capitalised on the additional space, and substitute Brahim Diaz made it 2-0 in the 88th minute. Diaz received a long pass from Eder Militao, controlled the ball expertly, and chipped it over the advancing Hein to double Madrid's lead.

The highlight of the match came in the dying moments when 18-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick marked his Real Madrid debut with a goal. After replacing Kylian Mbappe in the 86th minute, Endrick made an immediate impact.

He demonstrated his potential by powering a shot inside the near post during stoppage time, sealing the victory and adding a touch of brilliance to what had been a scrappy contest.

Endrick's debut goal underlined his talent and the high expectations surrounding him since his transfer to Madrid was confirmed in December 2022. Although he could not join the team until July due to FIFA regulations prohibiting transfers of under-18 players, his short cameo on the pitch showed why he is regarded as one of Brazil's most promising young talents.

While Mbappe, making his home debut for Madrid, had several good runs and attempts but failed to find the net, Endrick's brief yet impactful performance provided a glimpse of the bright future he could have at the club.

His energy and decisiveness in the final third contrasted with the earlier struggles of Madrid's established stars.

Following a 1-1 draw with Mallorca in their La Liga opener, this win gives Madrid confidence as they prepare to face Las Palmas on Thursday. Endrick's arrival and his immediate impact offer a positive boost for Ancelotti's side, indicating that they have a new weapon to unleash in their quest to retain the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy this season.
