Rooney can see Salah is starting to play a similar role at Anfield like Ronaldo did for Man United.
Mohamed Salah is becoming a threat like the way Cristiano Ronaldo used to be for Manchester United, says Derby County star Wayne Rooney.
The Everton academy graduate Rooney formed a formidable partnership with Ronaldo and Tevez that led United to win major honours, including the Premier League and Champions League at Old Trafford.
The great Sir Alex Ferguson often gave Ronaldo a free role in the final third and prefered him to remain high up the pitch, in that way the Portuguese was always ahead when they were on the counterattack, however, Rooney can see that Salah is starting to play a similar under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Former England captain Rooney said in the Times: “Mo Salah is starting to do what Ronaldo did for Manchester United, in terms of just being there and not really getting back to defend but always being a threat so that if you’re a defender or midfielder playing against him.
"You’re terrified of him on the counterattack.”
